The Library has many books, encyclopedias, atlases and dictionaries pertaining to Social Studies. The Library's books are classified according to subject by the Dewey Decimal System and browsing the shelves for books can be a good way to find books on similar topics.  The 150-159 range contains books on psychology, 300 to 399 range contain books on social sciences and social issues, and  the 900 to 999 range contain  books on geography and history. US History is shelved at 973.
