Let's get Boot-y By the Nineteenth Century men pushed for less adventurous clothing. As there became fewer and fewer fashion outlets for men shoes go to the extreme. Boots became the staple fashion in a man's armoire. Some of the men's favorite styles included jockey boot (a boot with smooth dark leather with a cuff that turns down to reveal a light colored lining), Hessian (hardier boot with tassels), Wellingtom or Napoleon (high in the front and cut away in the back so that the men could bend their knees while on horse back). Men should have also worn pumps or flat pumps because big calves were thought of as having power and sex appeal. |
