The Women’s Army Corps (WAC), created by an act of Congress in 1942, gave women a chance to serve in military jobs during wartime

No other nation on earth, especially our enemies in Asia and the Middle East, have female armies. No other nation assigns women to combat. No other nation has assumed that women should be thrust into harm’s way.
