Nitrogen was discovered by Daniel Rutherford in 1772.  Nitrogen makes up about 78% of the atmosphere. It is also used in the production of stainless steel, the filling of car tires, on top of liquid explosives for safety, to ensure the freshness of bulk or packaged food, the production of ammonia, and many more.
