History/ root of name:

Known since ancient times, Albertus Magnus, a German Alchemist, is said to have discovered arsenic around the year 1250, but that is not a fact. The actual word “arsenic” is derived from the Persian word Zarnikh, meaning “yellow orpiment.” Zarnikh comes from the Greek word Arsenikon, and between the Persian and Greek words, Arsenic as we know it today is known as a “yellow” poison for its ill-effects and can be referred to as the “King of Poison.”
