MS. MOLE UNIVERSE

Judge; Contestant please state your name, number, and give the

audience a little flavor for how you grew up. Ms. Europium; My name is Europium. Of coarse I am named after the continent where I was born in 1901, but more specifically I was raised in France. I was brought up by my father who also happens to be a discoverer. His name is Eugene Demartay. My atomic number for the contest is sixty three.

Judge; I happen to know from the questionnaire that you filled out earlier that you keep in touch with an extensive part of your family. Which part of your family are you closest to?

Ms. Europium; That is a complicated question. First, I am a member of a large group known as the rare earth elements. There are about thirty of us. Yet, within the rare earth elements there are two subdivisions called the lanthanide series and the acitinde series. I am most alike in the physical properties of the lanthanide series. Therefore, I believe I am closest to the rare earth elements of the lanthanide series.

Commentator; Now it is time for the infamous bathing suit competition. Ms. Europium or contestant sixty three listed on the score sheet, please proceed to strut down the runway as the announcer describes your suit.

Announcer; Contestant number sixty three is wearing a shimmery metallic silver-white two piece bathing suit. The special cubic crystal structure is hand crafted by the one and only Amedeo Avogadro. This suit will not stop a bullet, but it is as hard as lead yet it is quite ductile. Very interesting. This stunning suit has just the kind of uniqueness that I think the judges are looking for. Let's get the scores from the commentator for the "noble" judges....

Commentator; The scores of Ms. Europium...

Judge number two, Helium, gives her a 6.02 x 10 23, how exciting her first perfect score. Oh my this is a rare occasion. Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon all awarded Ms. Europium with perfect scores of 6.02 x 10 23. What a monumental time for this pageant. Ms. Europium might have just earned enough points to win the whole Ms. Mole Universe pageant. But, before the results are announced we will have to break for a commercial. So don't touch that dial and the results will come quicker than it takes to boil Europium at 1511 degrees Fahrenheit.

Commercial (paid for by pageant advocates); The Ms. Mole Universe pageant often receives unjustified comments from our viewers. As pageant advocates we would just like to recognize the fact that each mole is treated as an equal. A mole of sodium and a mole of chlorine each equal 6.02 x 10 23 and are treated as equals too. Each individual mole has the equal 6.02 x 10 23, yet here at Ms. Mole Universe the pageant it is designed to look into the special parts of each mole to see their individualistic character traits that set them apart from each other. Thank you for your time and now back to the scheduled pageant.

Commentator; The results of the competition are in. The next Ms. Mole Universe is.... Ms. Europium! The audience goes wild. She looks beautiful in her evening gown with the pattern of Europe on it. What an honor it must be to wear the sash and to hold those flowers for her continent. So Ms. Europium, what are you going to do now?

Ms. Europium; With my six energy levels I am going to dedicate a part of myself to the production of nuclear-reactor control rods and other parts of myself to the production of television.

Commentator; Wow, what a girl! That is all until next years Ms. Mole Universe pageant. Tune in then for more exciting competition.

Final Theme Song; There she is Ms. Mole Universe.......
