The Mackinac Bridge is located in northern Michigan at the Straits of Mackinac. The bridge connects Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas. The Mackinac Bridge stands as one of man's greatest engineering and construction achievements. Bridging five miles of open water which was formly only served by ferries, the crossing is made in minutes, where previously delays of 36 hours, and longer could be encountered.
