Cattle Egret
by Katie Fambrini

I chose to make a Cattle Egret because I liked their long slender figures. They are most abundant on the shores of Lake Manyara in Tanzania. They enjoy standing in the sun with the hippopotamuses, and perching on the backs of Cape buffalo. When they are alarmed, they noisily flap their wings and fly away, warning their hosts of possible danger. The frame of this Cattle Egret is made entirely of wire, except for the head, which is made out of a plastic water bottle. The body is stuffed with newspapers, and the entire bird is wrapped in plastic.
